Proficient Engineering provided a unique HVAC design to condition the multiple pools in this facility. The design from PEI saved its client money in construction cost, energy use, maintenance and replacement while delivering better indoor air quality. The savings could approach a million dollars over the life of the building! Our firm is committed to each project and this is a good example of how thinking outside the box can lead to huge savings for its clients.
The HVAC system for the indoor pools was accomplished by transferring excess air (brought in to satisfy ASHRAE 62.1 for the adjacent fitness areas) through a standard packaged rooftop unit. The excess air is then exhausted from the pool area.
